Social engineering is a general term used by most Crypto Investigators today. This is a scam right out of the gate, however, the victim, does not believe it to be true. Social engineering is when a scammer creates a fake profile, often times copying an individual who is well known or provides a false online identity to the victim, which entices the victim to develop a relationship. These relationships get formed, develop trust, and often times end with the victim sending money to the scammer for some reason, whether it is for help, investment opportunities or business ideas. The scammers are long term and know exactly when to ask for money from the victim. In these cases, the relationship has been developed, and the victim often does not want to believe it until after 5-10 transactions have been made. Scammers may ask the victim to send money through a Crypto ATM or a false Crypto Exchange, or even sending crypto directly into the scammers wallet.
